I work as a craftsman at Handicrafts Home. My main work is to create decor pieces using mother ofpearl.

Mother-of-Pearl, also known as 'seashell', is a shiny material obtained from the inner layer of seashells.It has been used inIndian handicrafts since ancient times. It is used in the decoration and creation ofvarious decor, such as picture frames, decorative trays & boxes and other home accents.

My work is quite complex and meticulous. I first collect the seashells and wash andclean them. Thenthese seashells are cut and decorated in various shapes by hands. After this, the Mother-of-Pearl piecesare decorated on various items, making them beautiful and attractive. The whole process is done byhands.

As an artisan, Mother-of-Pearl handicrafts are an important part of work. This art provides meemployment and economic benefits. Apart from this, it also increases our social status and respect withHandicrafts Home
